The Copenhagen Resource institute has been awarded a contract by Eurostat, the EU's statistics service, to collect process and validate data related to European Waste Shipment Regulation.

CRI has extensive expertise in the area of waste policy and has worked on the quantification and analysis of European trans-boundary waste shipments for several years.  this project will build on the existing waste reporting commitments: According to Article 51 (1) of the EU Waste Shipment Regulation Member States of the EU are required to send to the Commission, before the end of each calendar year, a copy of the report submitted for the previous year in accordance with Article 13(3) of the Basel Convention.
