The European Topic Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production in cooperation with the European Environment Agency, Belgium and Morocco, organised a side event om May 11th, 2010, during the CSD-18 at the UN Headquarters in New York entitled "Measuring Progress Towards Sustainable Development Goals".

The workshop included presentations from ET/SCP-EEA, UNEP, Morocco and Belgium designed to foster progress toward, and understanding of, a framework for Indicators for Sustainable Development focusing on Sustainable Consumption and Production. The presentations were followed by a lively debate session on the usefulness of such approaches toward CSD-19.

The side event was well attended and seemed to raise significant interest and discussion.
