Gitte has been the Institute administrator for nine years and in that capacity also the administrator in four European Topic Centres. Her main areas of responsibilities are the financial administration of the Institute and overall project coordination. Being a small work place, she has until recently been the only staff of the IT, Admin, and Communication departments, leaving her with a long list of competences. On whatever task she embarks, her mantra and aim is systemise systems systematically.

Before joining the Institute, Gitte worked 1.5 years with the European Environment Agency in the programme responsible for the European Topic Centres.

She holds a Master’s degree in English and International Relations from Aalborg University, Denmark, building on a bachelor as Bilingual Business Correspondent in English and German from the University of Odense, Denmark. In her master thesis Danish Management Practices in an Indian Context, Gitte focused on the challenges of Danish expatriates with their Indian subcontractor from an intercultural perspective. 

Gitte is a Danish national.
