Márton is experienced in research and consultancy projects in the fields of resources and waste management and SCP. He has been working extensively on policy effectiveness analysis and assessments advising municipalities, enterprises, national governments and the European stakeholders on environmental management and policies.

Márton Herczeg has a combined educational background of environmental engineering, management and economic studies and sciences.

Márton has a multidisciplinary understanding and strongly cross-sectoral approach to analyse various environmental and socio-economic aspects of sustainability. Before joining the CRI, he has worked both as a university researcher/lecturer and an environmental consultant at private and public companies. Márton Herczeg is the author and co-author of around 40 publications, including several books, research reports and articles in professional journals. 

Márton Herczeg holds a PhD in Environmental Economics and Management obtained at the Doctorate School of Business and Management Sciences. He has an MSc in Bioengineering specialized on Environmental Protection.

Márton is a Hungarian national.
